Rola Ashour is a licensed mental health practitioner and experienced counsellor who specialises in working with children and young adults. Having acquired two Bachelor degrees in Psychology and Combined Social Sciences in the United Kingdom, Rola then gained practical experience working at the psychiatric ward in a leading hospital in Jeddah, where she received training from attending clinical psychologist in assessing and counselling adults and children. In 1998, she obtained a Masters Degree in Autism and Education from Birmingham University in the United Kingdom, Rola resumed her work at a children’s autistic center in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia as a teacher, curriculum coordinator and family liaison. Rola went on to become the counsellor (a position she still holds today) at Dar Al Hekma University (women’s collage), in Jeddah in 2007. Since then, Rola has provided counselling and has helped in establishing the Counselling Center at Dara Al Hekma University.
